It began with a simple observation that eventually became impossible to ignore.

While working in the residential and commercial window film industry, I realised there was no universal surveying methodology.
Recommendations varied from installer to installer. Technical knowledge differed dramatically. The same questions appeared repeatedly across industry groups and there was no structured consultation process designed specifically for architectural window film.
The more I looked, the clearer it became.
Residential and commercial window film wasn't simply an extension of automotive tinting.
It was a completely different consultation.
I built the first version.
It was called TintSlinger.
At its core it was simply a digital version of my own consultation workflow and the internal tools I used every day.
It worked.
But it wasn't good enough.
The technology simply wasn't capable of delivering the platform I had in mind.
So I stopped.
The idea was shelved.
I moved into the automotive repair industry and accepted that perhaps the technology simply wasn't ready yet.
Through a series of conversations I found myself working within sales consulting.
For the first time I was looking beyond window film and studying how structured sales systems influenced consistency, professionalism and customer confidence.
I rebuilt the complete sales process for a home improvement company.
The objective wasn't software.
It was consistency.
Helping representatives gather information consistently, present solutions professionally and close more business through a repeatable workflow.
Many of the ideas that now exist inside Emisiv were refined here.
I was approached by another business with a completely different challenge.
Legal report writing.
Paralegals were spending around four and a half hours producing each report.
I built an internal platform that reduced that process to under fifteen minutes.
It reinforced something I'd begun to realise.
Good systems don't replace expertise.
They remove unnecessary work so professionals can focus on what matters.
TintSlinger returned.
The same questions were still appearing across window film communities.
The same uncertainty.
The same confusion around film-to-glass compatibility.
The same tendency to approach architectural film as though it were simply automotive tinting on larger pieces of glass.
I scrapped everything.
Started again.
And began designing the platform from first principles.
While leading an in-house sales team for another home improvement company, I encountered exactly the same problem.
The salespeople could sell.
What they didn't have was a system.
Every representative followed a different process.
Different promises.
Different documentation.
Different presentations.
Different customer experiences.
We introduced a structured consultation process, presentation flow and documentation system.
The result wasn't simply better organisation.
Deals that weren't closed on the day increased from roughly a fifteen percent chance of converting to around eighty percent.
Not because the product changed.
Not because the price changed.
Because the professionalism changed.
The company continued selling at approximately forty percent above many competitors.
That lesson has stayed with me ever since.
Professionalism wins.
My contract came to an end.
I decided it was finally time to build the platform I'd been thinking about for years.
Two versions were developed simultaneously.
Workflows were tested.
User interfaces evolved.
The objective became simple.
Hide the complexity of a technically correct consultation behind a workflow that felt natural to use.
For years I'd deliberately kept the project private.
Apart from a small Facebook teaser back in 2021, almost nobody knew it existed.
Then I reached an important decision.
I've taken Emisiv as far as I'm prepared to take it based solely on my own experience in window film and direct sales.
The next stage shouldn't be shaped by one person's opinion.
It should be shaped by experienced professionals working in the industry every day.
